Running a small business is challenging...
In fact it's one of the most challenging things we are every likely to set out hand to.
We have to know so much about everything.
We have to do everything ourselves.
Until we decide to hire people, when it's so hard to work out who we actually need and where to find the right people.
Second guessing ourselves is a constant. Have I made the right decision? What should I do next? Could I have dealt with that better?
Not knowing which way to turn is exhausting...
Often, it's a very lonely place to be as our friends and family and local acquiantances just don't understand the demands on us.
The simple fact is this: to grow our businesses with ease, we need other people to help us.
We need trusted experts who we can go to with a complex problem and get an easy answer.
We need people who have already grown their businesses past the point where ours is so that
we can learn from their experiences and not make the mistakes they made.
We need a community of small business owners who can be our sounding board and cheer us on.
We need recommendations - what books to read, what courses to do, what software to use, who to hire (and who to avoid...)
And we need people who understand us when we just need to vent about how hard something has been or to celebrate those wins that none of your friends or family really understand...
No man or woman is an island, particularly in business - we need that support and community to thrive.
And with that support comes ease, joy and the satisfaction of seeing all of our efforts paying off...
